Proposal:

 Sponsor the 150 PALS Lifeguards patrolling the entire 35 km beachfront of Karachi and be associated with a public/social service that helps eliminate the drowning incidences in Karachi.

Concept:

 PALS has provided trained Lifeguards to patrol Karachi's coastline in order to make our beaches safe and reduce the 250+ drownings a year to 'Zero Preventable Drownings'.

Expertise:

 All Lifeguards have been trained and certified by Surf Life Saving New Zealand's Northern Region (SLSNR). Training involved all aspects of near shore rescues and CPR.

Experience:

 Since PALS started patrols on weekends and public holidays (from July 18, 2004), there have been ZERO drownings. PALS life guards perform over 200 rescues and preventive actions every weekend. The Lifeguards also have a season of monsoons behind them, when the sea is roughest.

Associations:

 PALS is a division of Critical Mass Social Welfare Organization and is a member of the International Life Saving Federation (ILS) and is associated with Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ/NR).
On a local level, PALS is working with the blessings of the City Government and the Pakistan Navy. The Navy has handed over their life guard towers to PALS which are now manned.
