Critical Mass (including its divisions: PALS and Beach Ed), is a non-profit association funded by memberships, sponsorships and your kind donations. All your donations to us are tax-deductible as per our Income Tax Exemption Certificate (NO.CIT/COS.V/2004-05/459).

Here are just a few of the programs your donation will help support:

Public Education - We produce aquatic safety coloring books for schools, brochures for the general public, graphic posters of rip currents, safety tips, and many other related materials.

National Certification Program - We developed and maintain the only national certification program for lifeguard agencies covering inland and ocean beaches, as well as for emergency aquatic response teams. Our standards are widely viewed as setting a standard of excellence in aquatic safety.

Junior Lifeguards - We help set standards for junior lifeguard programs, support development of these programs, and serve as a network for junior lifeguard programs to exchange information.

Aquatic Safety Advocacy - PALS works to encourage the provision of lifeguard protection and related drowning prevention programs in areas of the country where inadequate levels of safety protection have resulted in drownings.

Equipment Upgrades - Equipments need to be regularly maintained and upgraded. Your donations enable us to replace old equipment and ensure that all lifesaving hardware is in good working condition.

National Standards - We work to develop national standards for beach safety signs, flags, and other prevention materials.

Heroic Acts - We recognize heroic acts by lifeguards and non-lifeguards to save the lives of others.

Training Curriculum - We help develop curricula for the training of Pakistan's lifeguards in all aquatic conditions, including beaches, rivers, lakes and swimming pools.

Lifesaving Statistics - We maintain a national database of the most current statistics on the use of Pakistan's beaches, drowning, rescues, and the efforts of lifeguards to maintain the highest possible levels of safety.

Competition - We sponsor competitions throughout Pakistan to help keep lifeguards fit and to demonstrate to the public the role lifeguards play.

CMPALS.ORG - We maintain this website to help distribute information to the public and to communicate our plans and achievements to the world.
